Leader/Call-outs Standard
May 1, 2008
Leaders shall be made using the Call Out tool
- When you start to note, use the Call Out tool and put a space in the Note box that comes up. Then, use a Text Box to write note. This technique is similar to what was used in AutoCAD and will most likely change in the future.
- To make another note, simply copy or duplicate.
- Polylines shall NEVER be used. They can accidentally be converted to a Polygon and given a fill, thus hiding text.
- All notes and associated arrows shall go on the Anno-Note class.
Design Layer Standard
May 1, 2008
- Each design layer shall have a scale not equal to 1:1 (1/8”=1’0” most common).
- For masterfiles, use the scale of A101.
- For details, sections, wall sections, and elevations, use the scale that you want the viewport to be on the sheet.
- Room tags, window tags, and door tags shall be inserted on the masterfile. As in AutoCAD, duplicates may need to be inserted on enlarged plans and the originals may need to be turned invisible.
Dimension Standard
May 1, 2008
Dimensions shall be created using the YWA dim style
- The style is created in the YWA.template
Text Standards
May 1, 2008
Fonts shall be:
- Size 10 (w/ 10pt. spacing) MathSoftText BOLD for Notes and Dimensions
- Size 18 Arial for Titles
- The title block shall be set to Arial, plain style.

Door Schedule
May 1, 2008
The door schedule is set up to insert the information of each door that you have selected to be “on schedule” in the master file.
*THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN EDIT A DOOR SCHEDULE IS BY CHANGING THE INFORMATION IN EACH INDIVIDUAL DOOR, NOT THROUGH THE SPREADSHEET.
· The door schedule is premade on the VectorWorks Standards Sheet A601.
· Import your masterfile into the “master” design layer.
· Double click on the schedule already in the design layer, click the down arrow button, and select “recalculate” (the first option). This should add all the doors selected to be on the schedule in the masterfile.
· If the numbers are not in numerical order, click on one of the door numbers and you should see the buttons in the top left corner highlight. Click and drag the ascending button and drop it in the door number column.
Entering Information:
· Double click on the door and door settings will pop up
· Click the data tab
· Check “on schedule”
· Put the door number in the ID Label box
· Bubble shape – “Round”
· Bubble size – 5/16”
· ID Class – Anno-Iden (this allows you to turn off the tags without turning off the door itself)
· Check “Keep ID Horizontal”
· Schedule Info. – Fill in the following fields
5. Head Detail
6. Jamb Detail
14. Door Fire Rating
15. Notes
16. Door Material
19. Frame Type
20. Frame Material
24. User Field 1 = Door Type
25. User Field 2 = Glazing
26. User Field 3 = Hardware
o The door size will automatically be entered based on the info used when creating the door.
*Note: An easy way to copy the same door info for one door to another is with the “Eye dropper” tool. This will however map the same door number so you will have to change them back, but it’s easier than typing all the information again.
